Internet Love and Brainstormers: The Medium

Internet Love and Brainstormers: The Medium

The Medium

THE MEDIUM
(Rathram)

'Rathram' means KNOWLEDGE. It is woven on a lucid concept that people born at midnight of Indian Independence have got supernatural powers. Everybody in this world has sixth sense. For most of us it is dormant, and may not be vivid. But to a few it fits in them as a boon or a weapon.

Rathram depicts a cross section of India’s pre-independence era and analyses the happenings of the day when India became free, and from there it develops gradually scaling 62 years of Free India, the reminiscence, being the offspring of Great Partition, which took thousands on its death toll. Call it as The Year of the Lion or call it as The Year of the Rat for the convenience of our prejudiced minds.

The political, cultural and sociometric entities of Indian Society are exposed through a girl named Adila (Justice) who is born at midnight of August 14, 1947, out of a very ‘down-caste’ Hindu-Muslim wedlock, in a Mumbai suburban slum. When the clock strikes 12, amidst the rampant violence, her poor and innocent parents are butchered by the vanishing government machinery, and she is ‘forced out of the dead mother’ at the very moment marking the cry of Free India. While the babe cries aloud into the ‘void’, struggling in the shivering outstretched hands that took her from ‘the dead but warm womb’ of her slain mother, Jawaharlal Nehru hoists the tri colour flag at Red Fort declaring India’s Independence.

Adila grows up in Mumbai under the care of ill nourished, submissive and needy slum dwellers consisting of scavengers, coolies and other underdogs. When she attains the age of 13 she gets “contaminated” and struggles with the advancement of a supernatural power and becomes a medium to bring forth the apparitions of the "dead". Late rulers, politicians, tyrants, social reformers, administrators, godling and godmen appear before her in their real forms to reveal the other side of their eventful life….

While the rituals and performance continue blending Arabic, pagan and indigenous forms the people get the best from her due to its positivity. However, in the innermost she has a feeling that these will not last and that the good shall perish soon. For even Gods had enemies and may still have.

Adila is renowned now and people assemble around her with esteem piety. To their astonishment she pronounces the spell, and ‘the actors’ of the 14th August drama appear before her as apparitions. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lord Mountbatten, and the wife are all crowding to make known ‘their other side’ to the mass. Questions bring answers. True. The living may tell lies, but the dead does not!

What the dead tells now creates panic among the people who spread the news all over. They become confused and factions originate. Some go against her, while others support. The call for Jihad takes to a violent turn. She cannot sit idle. The enemies are strong and outrageous.

Adila resists. She doesn't yield to their threats. The antagonists start their vile indulgences and twist the situations to their favour. Their attacks not only thwart the calm flow of her service but also inflict the existing social set up.

And with the help of Shiva- a superman of Indian black magic- the rivals start to make her surrender before them. In spite of a strong police protection, Shiva's telepathic impulses penetrate every resistance and become very intense and reach her. Unable to withstand the onslaught and fury, Adila succumbs and at a critical moment, when the omen turns wrong and negative, her whole physical form blazes off in the engulfing fire, and her soul gets liberated. Before leaving the mutilated burnt body behind and dissolving to oblivion, her soul takes a vow that it will come back one day to avenge them.

A total elimination of Adila is what Shiva wanted. But things do not turn up as he wished….! So, knowing she would return he waits for that doomsday.

Eventful 4 decades go by. Years of unrest and calamities march forward. New boundaries are set up. New political equations come into being. The international scenario changes for favor of Uncle Sam. New allies and work front thrive. Terrorism and religious anarchy form the flagship of social life. The intra-socio-economic balance shatters. The oppressed still stands oppressed.

The much debated 2k comes in. The country is in the grip of stale brokers, gamblers and bootleggers. Political black sheep whistle the tunes. The Indian society is metamorphosing.

And in a modern township away from the city, Natan, a 25 year old handsome youth is in fits. The mental aberration and nightmares take the brain out of him. He has visions. Adila, the dead comes in his dreams and induces telepathic marvels in him. As if a clairvoyant Natan interacts with the ghostly form. He becomes possessed. Gradually he gains a psychic power that is more than equivalent to Adila. He begins assuming himself to be reincarnation of Adila, though it is in his masculine form.

Natan becomes renowned due to his supernatural power. His name and words traverse across the oceans. Disciples throng to be blessed with his presence. Political leaders and business tycoons fall in line for his blessings. His words acquire the magnetic beam which is potent to change even the rulers of the country.

The apparitions he brings forward uncover their other sides and it quakes the nation. Idols and images collapse. Controversies follow. Violence erupts. The prevailing religious harmony is lost.

And Liza, a young journalist in twenties thinks Natan is a swindler. She wants to affirm this and tries to dig out the secrets behind his sixth sense. But while doing it, she understands that Natan is blessed with real supernatural power and becomes his follower. Meantime, some of his disciples who are strong under his shadow want to overpower him in order to amass wealth and fame.

Atheist groups proclaim Natan to be a fraud. They set fierce propaganda against him and he is caught in its whirlwind. The disappearance of certain disciples put havoc in his life.

Police is after him, and the frequent raids put him in doldrums. There are attempts to kill him. Liza saves him. She develops a soft corner towards him and tells of her love. But Natan cannot accept it for he is not meant for worldly life, he says. To her bewilderment he declares, “I am not a man at all….!”

The secret thus revealed, Shiva, the super man of black magic, revives his memories. Though he is aged, the vengeance in him is still not settled. He rekindles it, joins his allies and plots against Natan.

Liza is now his staunch follower and right hand. The frequent nearness to her causes physical and mental changes in him. To his bewilderment when the first menstrual vibrations hit ‘him’, ‘he’ collapses under its weight. The very moment ‘his’ supernatural power fails ‘him’. And ‘he’ is lost…!

Turbulent days follow. Underworld dons and political mafia do not rest. They revamp their strategies one by one. Natan is cornered and is defamed. Shiva attacks ‘him’. ‘He’ escapes the attempt with the help of Liza. Police chases ‘him’ to satisfy the ulterior moves of political manipulators. ‘He’ has got nowhere to go. The people hitherto worshipped ‘him’ disown him now. ‘He’ is totally exhausted.

But ‘he’ is not frail, and Liza inspires ‘him’ to recapture the power lost. Practicing Egyptian black magic or Atharva is the only solution to the problems, she says. So, in the silence of the night, Natan, along with Liza and a few disciples, disappears into the dark, unnoticed.

They reach a remote and dense forest. The forest people provide shelter to them. With their patronage Natan and Liza start practicing severe occults. After a great ordeal they acquire the supernatural power they craved for. But this time the power they attained is something negative. Nevertheless, they with the prowess and fury of Mahakaali and Rudra, wait for the right moment to unleash their revenge….

The cycle is set to motion once again… The socio centric scenes shift. Apparitions still come; now willfully…. The oppressed shall not remain oppressed. The ‘fusion of woman and man in one’ becomes the fire to win… And to win means destroy…For, destruction is the only truth in Nature...! Destroying to create…...

The Triumphant Little

THE TRIUMPHANT LITTLE

Title: The Triumphant Little
Genre: Children’s Film
Premise: Virtues versus Vices are Magnet versus Magic.

Some terrorists develop a computer microchip carrying data & modus to bring chaos and anarchy in India. Their aim is to overthrow the government and rule our country. As a part of their scheme they create a magnetic field where none can enter.

An old witch who practices black magic wants to get the microchip so that she can also rule India and then the whole world. But she cannot do it alone because her magical powers do not have the capacity to overpower the magnetic field enveloping the terrorist’s underground abode.

Now, a group of picnicking children unknowingly hits against the magnetic field, and falls into the trap created by the old witch. The children try to escape but do not succeed. She holds the children captives for days and threatens to kill them.

Not knowing what happened to the children, their parents and the police force move together in search of them. Their efforts become fruitless and people crowd on the streets agitating. Media give full coverage and invent different weird stories about the disappearance of the children, which confuse the people and even the search.

While violence and terror engross the city, the children face deep trouble due to the magical influence of the witch. She wants to utilize the children to get the chip, with the help of her black magic. She warns the terrified children that she will eat their souls if they fail. She will set them free only if they get hold of the chip from the terrorists and bring it back to her. The children finding no other way accept her command and start their adventurous journey.

Overcoming many hurdles, the children find out the camp of the terrorists and get into it. Though troubles are awaiting them there, the children manage them skillfully. With great effort they enter the computer lab of the terrorists and find out the chip the witch is craving for. However, the children are not easy preys to the wicked witch and the terrorists. So, revising what they have learnt in the computer class rooms of their school, the children apply their intelligence and prepare a corrupt version of the chip, and escape unnoticed and run back to the abode of the witch.

The witch is waiting for them impatiently at the doors. The children give her the duplicate chip and the moment she gets it she changes her appearance to a devilish form and vanishes. Not knowing what to do the children try to escape from the den. Before they could escape, they hear the terrorists coming after them.

After an ordeal and outwitting them, the children escape at last and reach the city. They inform the police all that happened and hand over the original chip to them. With their help the police shoot down the terrorists one by one. And while the people are showering praises on the children, another misfortune in the form of the old witch is seen hovering over the city.

Thinking what she has with her is the original chip; the witch is unleashing atrocities in the city. The children with courage encounter her closely. When she learns from them that the chip is not the original one, she tries to kill the children with her magical powers. But the children overcome it by initiating a magnetic field around them with the help of the original chip. The witch tastes defeat at the hands of the children due to this. The police try to catch her at that moment. But before the police could touch her body, she explodes and dissolves into the air. The triumphant children are now surrounded by people who pour compliments on them, for their valor and intelligence.

2050 AD (The Aftermath)

2050 AD
(The Aftermath)

Intro:

A great calamity is going to happen to the human race as well as the animals on this planet earth. Our means to survive are causing extinction of many of the poor creatures that cannot speak, which in turn will question our own existence.

The international breeding policies of cattle, cloning and the play with genetics will cause an unprecedented devastation of human race because of the origination of a new species of transgenic animals. It is alarming that this genetic alteration can be manipulated to a point of immortality too.

Super human mutants may take over this earth to oppress us by separating the human species into two. The giants and the dwarfs! The cryonics may lead to reincarnation…! The genotypes and phenotypes of chromosomes may work against each other! Think of its aftermath!

There exists a rule of the nature. It is cosmic law. No harm shall be done to that. If done, calamities in every form will ensue. Why can't we think that the Eternity, the Ultimate who created everything with care and love will not allow the man to alter his nature and equilibrium?

Story:
I am trying to reveal the catastrophe awaiting our society after a few years. ….

The story goes like this……

A young man and his girl friend are doing research on the evolution of the society to its myriad forms by interlinking the genetic transition and the religious doctrines on the basis of certain sociological pattern. It is their conviction that religious philosophies and dictums, together with the taboos induce certain gradual yet very slow, but positive unidentifiable genetic transition in the human system. The manifested positivity is supposed to be carried on to the next generation at the moment of procreation, causing an evolution in the procreated. This has to be the reason of societal evolution, according to them.

The research leads them to get access to some highly classified documents relating to the dark side of the genetic theories and breeding policies, and also about the unscrupulous attitudes of the policy makers in twisting the very concept of Mendel’s theory of inheritance.

Their study results in finding out a long kept secret that an imminent danger will befall the human race and the animals as well. They are shocked to learn this. They think of taking this cause to fight against the international policy makers and their puppet government. They secretly seek the help of certain radical social activists and start interacting with the people to make them aware of the imminent danger to the human race and to prepare them for a great revolt. To them the religious doctrines are a very convenient and effective tool and weapon to strike against the foes. But before they could act upon the inevitable happens.

The animals go berserk all of a sudden. They become violent and start attacking anything that comes across. As if stabbed, people fall and crawl on the streets. Many go mad. Others crumble. Bodies of children rupture. Blood gushes out as if the veins are cut. Their faces twisted, their jaws locked, necks broken down, and the cries of children and the old mix up with the long sirens of the screeching ambulances on the roads. Scenes of horror are everywhere. It is total chaos.

The administrators are at their wits end. The people leading by the duo agitate and revolt against the government. The political and business tycoons join their hands to oppress the revolt. All the while proprioception continues to damage the brains of the children. Their nervous systems are totally immobilized..... Some others peeling their own skins, being insane….

And what comes next is the real story….the struggle of the duo to save the people, the humanity from a total disaster…from extinction.

The Chaos continues….

Mendel's theory of inheritance suggests the underlying principles of heredity related to plants and trees are also applicable to human beings and other animals, because
the mechanisms of heredity are similar for all life forms.

The Blending theory says that the inherited traits will blend from generation to generation. But, to what extent? Nobody knows. Charles Darwin, by his Pangenesis theory held that hereditary particles in OUR BODIES ARE AFFECTED BY THE THINGS WE DO DURING OUR LIFETIME.

These modified particles will migrate via blood to the reproductive cells and subsequently could be inherited by the next generation. The haploid cells that cause sex will work no more. Lamarck's theory of inheritance of acquired characteristics will go wrong shortly.

The subject goes against the present breeding policies and cloning that prohibit cattle from having their right to procreate by mating with the opposite sex. It is an encounter with the business tycoons who sit on a mammoth figure of above 30000 billion dollar business.

According to the breeding policies the semen of the bulls and other male animals are collected through artificial means and then inseminated in the females. This insemination using the sperm of a higher order species to obtain a distinct and better offspring will not have any problems with the first few generations. After a particular period these female cattle will become barren and would not be able to deliver off spring and not even milk or meat. They may go altered: physically and mentally. They may even go mad. Just think of a flock of cattle becoming mad and attacking the human race! Our children becoming mad and violent and agony and falling dead…!!!

And please, do not forget of the love lost in between them. Think of the pain, the pangs of these God's poor animals who are not allowed to have that divine love. How could they survive long without sharing the feeling, God has created for them, which we forbid. What right we have to that? And one who goes against the will of God will be punished. Yes. The human race shall face the doom in no time. Here, even the gods may go mad in vengeance.

Can we survive without having any sexual relationship with our wives? Think of the cattle who want to lead a 'husband-wife relationship' in their own way. Think to protest against the policy of prohibiting female cattle from the company of the males. And think of the horror we do to them by castrating their genital organs to ruin. Think of them now, if not, you will never, never.

Even the scientists could not foretell what is in store. They are silent now because the business tycoons do care only to amass money out of these innocent creatures' helplessness and ignorance of the people. Where are they who boast of safeguarding the interests of the animals? Where are these animal lovers? Where are the Societies for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals? Why can't they see this mental agony of these animals?

Please think of a generation-our children going mad by drinking even the milk from these cattle. The people who eat their meat may become distorted. The bodies go erupted and ruptured. Men and women go paralyzed. People creep. Cries and curses reverberate all over. People running in panic… Agriculture goes waste. What we eat becomes poison. And think of a community who loses their kith and kin due to the cruelty done to these animals by us. We will become extinct. The world will end then…

Niyog (Death Sequence)

Title: NIYOG (Death Sequence)

Premise: What does crime dictate to conscience?

Synopsis: NIYOG is the story of Shiva, who has tonfight against odds amidst love, passion and revenge. From a state of fear psychosis he transforms himself to acquire a devilish nature and kills the man who he thinks is responsible for the death of his sister, and escapes to a distant city. He encounters troubles there, but Michael, an old man rescues him and gives him shelter. As days go by he finds that Anne, the beautiful daughter of Michael loves him. However, a smart and young Neethu utilizes the chance and seduces him. Anne sees the change in him and cries bitterly. Michael is aware of this but he is helpless. With a deep sigh he holds his dear daughter to his bosom.

Shiva knows he is responsible for this. A strange sense of uncertainty seizes him and his heart is filled with remorse. He strives to keep himself aloof from Neethu, but fails. Unable to withstand it any more, he strikes her hard in frenzy. She is shocked and leaves him in revulsion.

A war is brewing. Now it dawns on him that the earth that held him so far will hold him no more and he flees that place. He joins the army. He gets a commissioned rank. However, it gives him no joy.

The year 1971, the year of war cries dawns. Together with it come chaos and devastation.

In the camp, the doings of his partner bewilder him and the apparitions of ‘the Forester’ (Shiva’s first victim) start floating before him. He, being highly sensitive, responds in queer ways. And drowned in delusions and almost becoming insane, he returns to the very scene of the murder and unearths the remains of ‘THE DEAD’.

For a brief moment he thinks he is freed from his sins, and in trance he collects the mortal remains and goes to Haridwar. There, when the valleys echo the tolls of temple bells, he plunges ‘what is left of the Forester’ one by one into the Ganges. Seeing it sinking in the holy waters, he stands up relieved. With that the spell is broken; the soul is liberated. No more fetters, now.

Soon the India-Pak war breaks out and Shiva is in the war front, fighting for the country. When his company is about to win, the lack of reinforcement causes a set back, and he is captured by the Paks. They torture him and on their retreat, leave him behind, to meet his agonizing end in a swamp. But fate wants it in another way. So in that dreadful stillness Abdul Khalam of the ‘enemy line’ sees ‘his son’ in Shiva. Not thinking of the consequences, Khalam takes the dying man and walks towards the Indian camp.

Gruesome acts await Khalam. His wails and words do not help him and he falls unconscious creating a pool of blood under him.

Bangladesh is liberated. War is over.

Now, far away from Khalam springs up Shiva from his coma in the army hospital, to find his legs amputated. Henceforth he pulls on his wretched life in his wheel chair like an accursed one. He goes to Anne but she does not live there. They have left the place already. Not knowing where they are, he goes to Neethu. He is humiliated by her. He realizes the futility of his forlorn life.

He returns and opens a service station in the name of good old Michael. Meanwhile, he happens to remember about Abdul Khalam who saved him from the clutches of death. Having no one to care for now, he brings Khalam from Peshawar overcoming many hurdles. Days go by. Khalam is his sole companion henceforth.

One day, Shiva sees Neethu ‘in the company of a man’. The vengeance so far suppressed finds its way out. Shiva tries to kill her. But she escapes unhurt. He is exhausted and withdraws in disgust.

Time passes and the social scenario changes. Shiva’s unceasing efforts to get the whereabouts of Anne and Michael become successful. And in a far flung village, Michael reads a telegram. He then turns to and smiles at Anne. “It is Shiva”, he says. Anne is happy. Her Shiva will come.

And Shiva comes. Michael is very glad to see them united at last. With his blessings they leave for their destined life in the Service station, to satiate a happy and content life. But, Neethu is waiting to have a close encounter. It is her turn now. After all, she is not a frail woman as he thinks. So, in the dead silence of the night somebody comes into his ‘glass chamber’ unseen and unheard.
The animal instinct in him suddenly smells the impending danger. However, before he could act, everything quakes and he lies there on the floor. The cries of Anne echoes all over. Blood flows down her mutilated body. The winning roar of a female animal is heard aloud followed by an utter silence.

When the morning mist touched the window panes, Shiva opens his eyes. He sees his life-his Anne, lying on the floor lifeless in a pool of blood. He ‘roars’. It echoes all over the service station. It is terror.

Before long, the day has come, the day of Neethu’s wedding! Waves of wrath thrash him. When ‘the appointed hour’ arrives, a ‘Baraath’ is in progress under the starry sky. The marriage procession moves along the tarmac road in pomp. Suddenly, the inevitable happens. Shiva’s loud laughter reverberates all over. Along the road, blood gushes. Nobody should survive this time; neither the bride nor the groom.

Khalam is frightened. Shiva’s scornful eyes bulge out. There is blood. The unquenched wrath against his fate finds the target in Khalam and he wriggles in pain. Nevertheless, Shiva loves him, though his eyes seldom move.

Shiva starts hating his reflections and is afraid of his shadows. He hates everything that comes in front. The visions of the past float before him… The forester struggling for life……………… An axe jammed on his neck……….. Then the catastrophes…………His humiliation……………….He is being kicked out…………..The lady he loved once…………….. His guardian Michael …….Khalam….and the glass walls…All shatters one by one and the gruesome death comes in….
